Common Questions About EasyVest
Q. Is there a minimum amount required to invest?
A. The minimum initial deposit required is $200.
Q. Are there any fees associated with using EasyVest?
A. There is an account management fee of 0.6% per year of the value of your investments. The account management fee is subject to a minimum fee of $0.50 per month. This fee is assessed the first day of each calendar month. Upon registering, you will be presented with the EasyVest fee schedule.
Q. What kind of investments can I make? How automated is the robo-advisor? Who administrates this process?
A. Upon registration, you’ll be asked questions to better understand your goals, aversion to risk, and retirement timeline. The “robo-advisor” will make an investment recommendation based on your results that will fund the account with your eligible Lake County Educational FCU deposit account. When using EasyVest, you create an investment account that invests in securities. Your account is not a Lake County Educational FCU share. The investment account is held at DriveWealth, LLC, a securities brokerage firm that is not associated with Lake County Educational FCU. The account is managed by Access Softek Advisory Services, LLC, which is also not affiliated with Lake County Educational FCU.
Q. Are there risks?
A. As with any investment, there is a risk that you may lose your investment. Should the market value of your account decline, your account may lose value. However, portfolios managed within an EasyVest account are rebalanced monthly to maintain the level of risk that aligns with a member’s goals.
Q. Is my investment safe? Is my money secure?
A. DriveWealth, which provides brokerage services through EasyVest to Lake County Educational FCU members, is an SEC-registered broker-dealer and a member of FINRA/SIPC, a regulator for all securities firms doing business in the United States. These funds are not insured by the NCUA or the FDIC, or any other insurance that protects against investment losses.
However, the Securities Investor Protection Corporation (SIPC) provides limited coverage, up to $500,000 per customer, to investors on their brokerage accounts if their brokerage firm becomes insolvent. For information about SPIC coverage, see: https://www.finra.org/investor...
